Hi my name is Trent Jones I’m
17 years of age and have been racing bmx for 7 years. I've enjoyed all action
sports from a young age but this one seemed to give me the most thrills.I went to the local bmx track at the age of 9 and 7 years
later I am currently doing the same. I won my first nationals in 2006 at
Cambridge and from then on, and still, it has a been hill climb to reach
my goals.
This year I made my first main at the World Championships
in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa and ended up 5th overall. I’m currently in
the New Zealand High Performance Squad which is coached by Ken Cools and training at the Academy
of Sport in Christchurch.
BMX was announced as an Olympic sport in 2008 and from
that day on it has and will be my goal to bring that gold medal home.
Until that day comes, the bike will not be going on the wall
